Got Newton a green runner!
Here's my boys! My old Timer Newton and little Cody!
Newton my yellow lab and collie mix has been having a time getting across the kitchen floor. He slides all over and he falls on all fours. The poor old guy can't walk across the floor cause he doesn't have much support under his paws. I bought him some cute red booties. They looked cute he walked fine could run all over the kitchen. But I think he didn't like them cause when I wasn't looking he'd take them off. I'd put them back on he'd run on the floor no problem. But as soon as he figured everything was ok he took them off. I really think he was embarrassed cause Cody my little black Lapso would chase him when he had them on. I feel there was something funny going on cause Cody looked like he was making fun of poor Newton!
Newton is very passive until he's been pushed and when he had those booties on Cody and him would get into some awful scraps. Newton would give up most of the time cause the old teeth can't take to much. Plus I would be trying to break them up and I'd have to stop Newton cause he listen's much better than Cody would! I know now that little dogs must feel they have something to prove being small cause when Cody's mad it takes him a lot to calm down. He complains for hours and he growls and cries like a baby. I try to console him but he'd rather be alone. So I'm making a short story long. LOL But that's what I'm know for! tehe (As Melanie buddy would say!) Marc suggested to get a carpet runner for the kitchen to run down one side of the kitchen to our bedroom. This doesn't surprise me cause the only thing I know about Marc lately is that he loves Newton very much. It's 35 feet long! I like it cause it has a rubber back and it's dark green. It sorta isn't what I'd put in my kitchen but for my old timer I would!
Well I put it in and Newton goes about 2 feet and goes back to the stairs. I've tried treats. Asked Jamie to help out and he got him to go the two feet. With me he thinks I'm up to something and goes and hide under the table or runs downstairs. This might take awhile but at least I won't have to hear him whine for hours to get to his food dish. He may go a bit hungry but he will get the knack of it I do hope!
Anywho to make things in life easy try and try again or go insane trying!
