It's official I'm going to be a Grandmother!!
Well I can finally say it I'm going to be a grandmother. I have wanted to get this out for awhile but I wanted my in laws to find out first. So now I told them but hubby was suppose to but that's another story. Don't care to rehash it right now.
Anyways Mel is due August 27, 2007. I'm sure it will be September. But if she anything like me she be on or before the due date. I had Mel 20 mins before my due date. My due date was July 17. Mel was born 11:40 pm July 16 20 mins early! lol I'm crossing my fingers that everything will turn out ok. I'm so worried about her but we've been to all the right doctors I made sure of that. Mel doesn't ask alot of questions but you know what that one of my traits good or bad. I want to know all the good and bad of everything even if it's going to cause me heartache. And boy in my life because I want to know it all. I've dealt with a lot of heartache but at least I wasn't left in the dark. LOL
It was a surprise because she wasn't going out with this new boyfriend for long and bam she's going to have a baby. At first I was shocked but like I told her she's old enough to know better and it's up to her what she was going to do she is 20. Her boyfriend she's known since grade 10. But only got back being friends in Nov and then started going out. I like him. He is good to her and wants to be there with her through this. So she's lucky in that fact because the boyfriend before this one only cared about his needs.
Anyways every year I have a shocker and it's usely a bad one but I'm not letting this baby news be a bad thing. To me it's wonderful. I know the road ahead for Melanie will be rough we talk about it but I know she'll do fine. I told her I've been there done that and she and I made it through. So will she. I told her I'm glad she's having the baby because I'm 42 young enough to be a hip gram. So they call me gramz I guess it sounds hip. lol I remember a few months ago I was hating myself for getting old. Hummmmmm does becoming a grandmother make me officially old ?! I think not!! lmao It makes me youthful again!! I hope!
Anyho I feel better that I could get this one off my chest for now. The stress of keeping this one in sure did a number on me. You don't know how many times I wanted to write this out. But I wanted certain people to know first. Well it's all over now and you can call me GRAMZZZZZZ!!lol

I think your only as old as you feel, and some days it's probably a hundred, and others it's 25.
I'm happy, it'll give you another to shower love on, and you'll love it. Mel will be an awesome mother, she's had a great role model there.

Congrats! Your right- this day and age: its really okay to have a child without being married- and I think 20 years old isn't to young at all. You should be so proud!

We have a 'blended' family and Oldest Daughter made me a Grandma at 30! But I don't mind...I'm the only Grandma he knows...and there's no difference to us.
