Well she found out!

Let's just say I knew in my heart this would happen. I kept trying to plan a baby shower for Mel. Every time I had a date in mind. Someone had something to do that weekend and couldn't make it. So once I did find a date I decided to rent the hall up the street from me since it would be easier to have it there since I don't have to worry about where I was going to put people and they have the chairs and tables that would help me out. So I call the woman up the street from me that I know to book the hall. I was so excited because Mel knew she was having a shower but didn't know when or were. She keep saying "Mom where are you going to put people if you invited them here at home?". Or "Mom, is there enough room for my friends to come?"


But Al almost spoiled the fact that I was going to rent the hall before I booked it. Because he was on the phone with his mom and said the shower wasn't going to be at home it was probably going to be somewhere else. And of course Mel was sitting right there!! By this time Mel was going to ask what's going on with this confused look on her face. lol
So I yelled out of course it's going to be here where else would I have. He caught on to what I was saying and told his mother the same. Phew dodged another bullet lol

So I finally said July 15 was the only day a day before her 21 birthday. So the day I booked it the woman said that she had to contact the once in charge and that she would get back to me right away to let me know but she didn't see a problem with that date because there didn't seem to be anything book for that Sunday. I said great I gave her mom's number and my home phone number even though she knew both but I wanted her to call me right back because I was so excited about this I wanted to know for sure that I had it.

Well I stood by the phone for about 20 mins then I got really busy at work and I never heard the phone ring in about hour. So I called home to make sure she didn't call me there and leave a message so I talk to Al he told me that there wasn't a message on the answering machine so I was glad. I let him know the date so he could tell his family that night.

Then I got busy at work again. So off I went helping people with their question on plants and what to buy and people wanted to buy some antiques since my parents sell those also. Then about 2 hours later I notice three women come in and I knew two of them. I was to busy to notice the third.

The lady I knew had ask me a question for another lady so I asked her where she was and she told me her name and then it hit me it was the lady that rents the hall to everyone. So I ran over asked her if my friend had called her about the hall and she said yes I got it! I was like a kid that just won a prize at a fair ground! lol I think I squealed a bit and thank her over and over again lol.

With everything that been going on in our lives to hear some good news was a wonderful relief. So I call Al again to confirm. I started to tell my family about it and I was planning all sorts of stuff for Mel's shower. Then I got this idea why not have a Co-ed shower since Al mention he'd like to be there with her and I to help out. And Mel has some close male friends too. So I thought why not it would be great to have some help. Also Mel and I being shy in crowds and Al not it would help me out a lot. Also Mel's best friend Tasha was also not a shy bunny I was so much more at ease with the two helping me out. So that day at work I was happy because I had something to think about beside Bruce's being gone and worrying about Mel so much.

Then my mom needed a babysitter for her three foster children that night because they had an auction to go to. So I called Mel and she said yes. So she was there at work a hour early and we just talked about stuff then I went home with a huge smile and a big secret from Mel.

I was home for about two hours when Mel called me upset and she said " I'm so sorry mom, Grammy's answering machine was beeping and it was driving me nuts. So I went and push play and then I heard your name so I thought I better get the message for you. That's when I heard Denise say that the hall is confirmed for Mel's baby shower!"

I just sat back in my chair disappointed and didn't say a word while Mel kept saying she was sorry. I finally answer her and just said Mel I have to let you go. She asked if I was mad at her I told her no but I was so disappointed with the whole thing. I never thought that I would of took it so hard. But I did I was looking forward to Mel being happy and surprise for the first time in a long time.

So once I came out of the shock I sat back and decided that so what Mel knows the date she doesn't have to know who's coming what we are doing for her ect. So while Mel was babysitting Tasha came over because she knew I was upset and she got me back in the mood of planning. So to make this long story short not!! lol I'm still happily planning her and Al baby shower in between the skank thing. So there is a ray of sunshine still peeking through the clouds so not all is bad! lol
